More than 50 tea export and producing companies mainly from Sri Lanka, Iran, India and Kenya showcased their tea products and thousands of tea buyers engaged the event. The World of Tea Seminar and Exhibition, which is annually held in Tehran, is a majour tea trade fair in Iran and West Asia Region. It is generally considered as the productive platform for foreign exporters to establish direct connections with importers, retailers, distributors and other business partners. The Ceylon tea stall was one of the famous booths among visitors of the Exhibition.<\/p>\n<p>With lightening the traditional oil lamp, the Ceylon tea stall was officially opened by the Ambassador of Sri Lanka G.M.V. Wishwanath Aponsu, Deputy President of International Affairs of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines &amp; Agriculture Dr. Alireza Yavari, Managing Director of M\/s Samley Tea Mr. Kavith Balage, Director of M\/s Pankeh Tea Mrs. Sara Shariati Saravi and other business representatives. A range of Ceylon tea verities was displayed and discussions of plans and new ways to retain the Ceylon tea market and promote Ceylon tea in Iran were arranged.<\/p>\n<p>During the inaugural ceremony, Head of Iran Tea Association Hamidreza Movassaghi welcomed the all participants at the 18<sup>th<\/sup> Tea Seminar &amp; Exhibition and emphasized the need of collective engagement together with all to uplift the tea market and tea industry in the Islamic Republic of Iran. Further, he underlined that all tea exporters and importers who join business with Iran tea market should convene regular meetings to discuss the progress, obstacles and way forward of tea market. Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture Dr. Changiz Jahangiri was also made his remarks.<\/p>\n<p>While thanking to Head of Tea Association Movassaghi for his invitation Sri Lanka to attend the tea event-2022, Sri Lankan Ambassador Wishwanath Aponsu expressed that Sri Lanka\u2019s prime objective is to supply more healthy, wellbeing, quality and finest tea to the Islamic Republic of Iran. Highlighting the present situation in Sri Lanka, the Sri Lankan envoy made an open and friendly request from all tea trade partners of Iran to import more Ceylon tea for regaining Sri Lanka. Further, he requested the representatives to encourage Iran friendly people to buy, drink and gift more Ceylon tea.<\/p>\n<p>Ambassador Wishwanath Aponsu met several prominent business personnel and facilitated several business opportunities for the Sri Lankan tea exporters who represented the Exhibition. At the discussion had with Ambassador of Kenya Joshua I. Gatimu, Chairman Joho Mithamo Wasasuna and senior officials of Kenya Tea Board, join partnership in regard to the existing issues including tea quality and tea promotions in Iran was discussed enabling all tea producing countries to secure their market.<\/p>\n<p>The crowd, visited the Sri Lankan tea stall, enjoyed the liquid tea service of seven Ceylon tea flavors, Nuwara Eliya, Uda Pussellawa, Dimbula, Uva, Kandy, Ruhuna and Sabaragamuwa with several Sri Lankan typical food items.
